An automobile axle is connected to a frame by a suspension, and wheels are installed at both ends. The function of the axle is to bear the load of the car and maintain the normal running of the car on the road.

According to the different driving mode, the vehicle axle can be divided into four types: steering axle, drive axle, steering drive axle and support axle. Among them, steering axle and support axle belong to driven bridge. Most cars use front rear drive (FR), so the front axle ACTS as the steering axle and the rear axle ACTS as the drive axle. As for the cars use front front-drive (FF), the front axle is the steering drive axle and the rear axle is the support axle.
